First Name: Rebekah

Last Name: OKeefe

Where are you from?: Penrith NSW

How did you find out about us?: Midwives at Nepean Hospital

The bear we received was tagged in honour of?: Billie and Harlow Angland

Comments: My partner Anthony and I lost our identical twin boys, William and Jackson on 12/6/17 at 18 weeks and 3 days.

We found out at 16 weeks that they had Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome. Unfortunately we were unable to have the surgery to correct the blood flow as my placenta was in the way and the doctors were unable to find a safe point of entry.

After two weeks of back and forth from the Royal Hospital for Women, waiting for my placenta to move, the pressure became too much and I went into early labour.

This was an extremely difficult time for us, but it was so heart warming to receive the bears of hope in honour of Billie and Harlow. We knew we were not alone in our grief.

The kindness and generosity of strangers has inspired us to also donate bears of hope, in memory of our boys, in the hope of bringing some comfort to another family.

To the family of Billie and Harlow, and all of the other families who have angel babies, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts and send you all much love.

How did you find out about us?: through earlier miscarriage

The bear we received was tagged in honour of?: Billie & Harlow Angland 3/5/2014

Comments: At 12 weeks our baby, Axel Golding’s, little heart stopped beating. They concluded the cause was the fever I had had a couple of days prior. After returning home from the final scan to confirm his heart was no longer beating I went into labour and delivered him before we could speak with our doctor or midwife about next stages. We received our Bears of Hope that night and a little bear in honour of Billie & Harlow Angland. At a very raw and emotional time for my partner and I it was oddly comforting to know we weren’t alone in this new world of heart ache but it was heart wrenching to know another family had lost two loved babies.
Thank you Bears of Hope
and the family of Billie and Harlow

Where are you from?: Launceston Tasmania

How did you find out about us?: Launceston General Hospital

The bear we received was tagged in honour of?: Benjamin Woolley

Comments: We received our bear on the 16th of September 2015, after giving birth to our beautiful baby boy Tyson who was born sleeping peacefully in the night. Born at 24 weeks gestation due to a placental abruption.

I have many photos of Tyson holding and laying with this teddy in photographs that were taken by Heartfelt. I cherish them very much.

This teddy bear has given me much comfort, as well as Tyson’s big brother Zayden, who never quiet understood where his baby brother went.. he enjoyed having a teddy to cuddle then and still does enjoy it very much.
I call him ‘Benjamin and Tyson’s Bear’ as it was given to me in Memory of a little boy named Benjamin and it was given to me to remember my little boy, Tyson.
This has also helped Zayden understand a little more about babies who pass away, he now knows that Benjamin Wooley is a baby like Tyson who is in Heaven and his Mum donated this bear for other Mums and kids like him (Zayden) to cuddle and hold when others like us all lose a baby.
Talking with the siblings helps to remember them. Zayden was just 1 and a half when Tyson was born and buried and he remembers and knows him like he has always been there, I showed him photos every day and we took flowers to the cemetery. he has sat and played with his toy trucks with Tyson too and on Tyson’s 1st birthday, we went and ‘had a party’ with him too.

Our babies are never too far from us and even though its hard to live without them, its things like these beautiful Teddy bears that make missing them that little bit easier.
Thank you to Bears of Hope and Thank you to Benjamin’s Mum for our dear little bear. xox

The bear we received was tagged in honour of?: Ryan Jon McDonald

Comments: We lost our first baby on the 15th July 2017, he was born at 30 weeks +1 his name is Rueben George Campbell. The John Hunter Hospital gave us a Bears of Hope package and when we opened the tag on the bear both my fiancé and I lost control and were full of tears. I signed up to donate each month the next day. Losing our baby is still very raw as it was less than 48 hours ago.

Comments: Our first born daughter Milo Lily Lanzini was born on Monday 27th March 2017 at 37 weeks. We knew before I gave birth that our little angel was sleeping, with no answers as to why. Every day since then has been a struggle and our lives have changed forever. Once our little girl was born we received the little bear of hope, at the time it’s hard to focus on anything and as much as you don’t wish this pain on anybody it was comforting to know we were not alone and our little angel wasn’t alone either. Thank you Bears of Hope and Billie & Harlow’s parents for donating their bear.

How did you find out about us?: A friend

The bear we received was tagged in honour of?: Zachary Taylor Richardson

Comments: A week ago today I lost my son Zachary Adrian Francis Cooper, born too soon and not ready for this world. After going through the long IVF process and 15 weeks of pregnancy I was devastated to lose my precious little boy who was wanted with all my heart. To receive my Bears of Hope package yesterday and see this beautiful bear, then to see the little angel’s name is the same as my little angel really touched me. Even the date of Zachary Richardson’s birth held special meaning to me as it was the date of my Grandmother’s passing. I believe this is some kind of sign. Zachary took a piece of my heart that will never be replaced but my Bear of Hope has brought a little bit of closure and comfort. Every time I hug my bear I can feel the love and comfort. Thank you so much xoxo
