How did you find out about us?: Courier Mail Article
Comments: I came home yesterday to read about you and your organization in the newspaper article and felt compelled to contact you. I had just returned from the cemetery where I visited the grave of my two children. I’d just wanted to say Merry Christmas and feel the peace that they are in. It still is hard at different moments in time, even after 24 and 26 yrs. After reading the article, I am impressed with the organization that you have established. My only wish was that I would have been able to have contact with such an organization when these losses had occurred in my life. I feel that many families must be grateful for your help. Thank you for using your loss and creating help for others.

The bear we received was tagged in honour of?: Lucas & Joseph Pratt
Comments: Thank you to Lucas & Joseph’s parents. The Hope Bear I received from Bears of Hope, after I left hospital with empty arms, has been the only thing I have to remind me of Emily. I don’t have any scans or photos that ‘show’ Emily was real and she was here, even for the short 10 weeks. Joseph & Lucas’ Hope Bear brings me great comfort in times of despair because it’s something I can hold and remember my baby.

The bear we received was tagged in honour of?: I don’t know x 2
Comments: I didn’t understand. We were given 2 bears, a small one for Aubrey Michael who died in utero, and a big one for Archimedes Hare who was born at 28 weeks and lived for only 8 hours. My twins, gone forever.
I was in shock, I ripped off the tags and gave the bears to my living child to hold because he couldn’t hold his brothers.
I am so sorry. I know now what these bears mean, and the love that brought them to my arms.
Archie Bear and Aubrey bear still sleep with my son every night, and I still think of the babies who inspired their donation.
And now I know what it means.

They provided us with great comfort last night as we spent the night away from our little angel but were able to keep something close by that he had spent time with. The little bear is almost as tiny as he was so we will always have a reminder of just how little our angel was.
Thanks so much to the Dodd family for providing us with support and love during this difficult time. We hope that be donating and encouraging others to do the same, we may provide similar support for another family.

To our first baby who at 12 weeks, bestowed us so many gifts including hope and dreams for the future, courage and strength and most importantly to know a mother’s and father’s love. You have brought your daddy and I even closer together and demonstrated what an amazing father your dad is.

Comments: When Cooper was born sleeping at 40+6 weeks I went numb, my world completely stopped. Being only 20 I made the decision to grow up and move my life on a different path then was suddenly stopped at a dark crossroads. When my gift of the bear was given to me I did not know what to think, wondering how a teddy could help me through this hard time. Until one day I opened the tag and read ” Alex Martin Turner” and I felt a comfort I’d never felt before, knowing that there was support and love from someone I didn’t know and that I wasn’t alone. Now I pray to Alex and Cooper and send them my love everyday. I can’t thank the Turner family enough for the light they have given me, you are beautiful people.

The bear we received was tagged in honour of?: Tanisha Anne Yaldren (20/08/2010) and Boyd Stuart Thackeray (08/08/2010)
Comments: My husband ad I lost our identical twin girls Havanna Evelyn and Olivia Kim, at 22 weeks after I went into premature labour from the pressure caused from Twin to Twin Transfusion syndrome. It been three weeks since we said hello and goodbye to our girls in the same breath, but we are grateful to have been blessed with their presence in our lives. In the short time they had with us, they showed us the two extremes of human emotions and brought us closer together. Our bears have been a saviour, empty arms have been the hardest thing to deal with since our loss and the bears fill that empty space when we need it. So thankyou very much to the Yaldren and Thackeray families for having the compassion and forethought in your time of need to extend a warm hug to complete strangers in our time of need. We cant see through the heartache and pain at the moment, but the support packs and bears you have donated to us have given us somewhere to begin healing and bears of hope have given us somewhere to turn to when we need a shoulder to cry on. We only hope that the bears we intend on donating give the same gift of hope and fill someone elses empty arms when they need it most.

The bear we received was tagged in honour of?: Anaiah
Comments: My friend’s baby died shortly after birth on July 27, 2012. She is, understandably, very depressed. Even more so because she never had the chance to hear her first cry or even to hold her before she died. She is literally given up on living, refusing to eat, or talk to anyone about it. As a dear friend, I am asked to plan the funeral for our little angel, Anaiah, which is due to take place in 2 weeks. Whilst Mom says she will taking part in the planning or even attending the funeral, from your web-site I read where she may in later years wish to have some form of keepsakes etc., this amongst other things is what I really would like to sensitively and lovingly create for her. I am also wanting to have the right kind of music for the occasion and afterwards. Can you please help? Anaiah is a little girl. Her name means:God answers. Nehemiah 8 verse 4. I did look at your theme song Live Among the Angels but I also saw another one title Remembering Our Baby Angels M2 Cristina 1. Not sure of the title but would this be on the CD as well??? Look forward to hearing from you.

To see the names of other dear darling children on the bears is probably a highlight of the whole bag for me…and although that sounds a strange thing to say – (seeing the fact that other mothers/families have also had to endure the loss of their little ones) – but more for the reason that you as a wonderful organisation have bought all of us together and therefor know that we are not alone; And I certainly hope that the parent that gets the bears with our darling boys’ names on it feels this same way? We lost our little ones some time ago now but have only just come across BOH – so to receive our beautiful bag was such a huge suprise; So for this, I say thankyou, from the bottom of our hearts xxx

Comments: What a lovely gift to leave the hospital with after my grandson left us at 1 week old. I am so grateful for the time we had with him. My daughter also was very touched to get a Bear of Hope, it lightened our hearts and we will do the same for others. My thoughts also go to the beautiful hospital staff who shared our loss as well. When thinking of angels I think not only of my grandson but also of the wonderful angels in neonatal wards that do this as a job everyday. You are the true heroines and heros.

Comments: Our baby Ruby ( 14.04.12 ~ 01.05.12), was born at 26 weeks via emergency caesarian due to severe Pre Eclampsia. We had such a rough 24 hours, that we both nearly died. Then my beautiful babe was born, she was doing so well in NICU, until she contracted an infection, causing several complications. We had the choice of letting her go peacefully or keep trying for several days to see how long she would last but at a very high risk of brain damage or severe disability. We could not do this for our baby girl, so we let her go peacefully in the early hours of the morning. Later that day we recieved a ‘Bear of Hope’, such a beautiful bear, we will keep nearby to remind us of our beautiful girl. I miss my baby every minute of the day, every breath I take, and with every tear I shed, I would give anything to have her back in my arms. We love you so much little Miss Ruby D xoxoxox <3 Love Mama & Dadda <3 xoxoxo

Comments: I am currently in hospital after suffering my 10th miscarriage (ectopic), I am lucky enough to have one child. I am laying here thinking about my journey and how I would like to to help others that find themselves in my position that possibly feel they are alone. I received a Bear of Hope after my forth loss a few years ago and remember the feeling I had when I received it, I want that feeling now. But mostly I want to say thank you to Bears of Hope it was such a small gesture but has meant the world to me, and made me realise that I am not alone and I will never forget each of the 10 blossoms that were given to me, they may have only be here a short while but they were here – I will never forget.

Indy-Lee did really well and everybody had hope! But than after 4 days they doctors from the NIC unit found out that she has meningitis and it was really severe. There seemed to be very little support around at this time especially when you where being asked to make decisions about autopsies and funeral plans – lets face it no one is in a fit state of mind to make these decisions within a few hours of giving birth to an angel. I hope you are planning on taking this nationally as it is some thing I truly believe everyone needs to know about

The bear we received was tagged in honour of?: Liam Daniel Attril – 09.07.2010
Comments: I couldn’t stop crying when the social worker at the Westmead Hospital came and presented me little presents along with the bear of hope. It was indeed very emotional when she she told us that we would be walking out of the hospital with a bear in our arms. Our little daughter was born dead on 02.04.2012 at 16 weeks and 6 days. This was our first pregnancy and during the prenatal diagnosis we had found out the baby has Thalassemia major. It was a very hard decision for us to decide whether to give our daughter a life misery and pain wherein she will have blood transfusions every 3-4 weeks or take the pain on us by sending her to the heaven and ask her to come back as a healthy baby. As she is going to live with the angels now, we have decided to name her ‘ANGEL’. It’s not even been 2 days and she has already created a vacuum in our lives. I would like to say thank you to this organisation and would also like to know how we could donate a bear for someone in honour of our daughter.
Thanks

Comments: First of all, I send you my most heartfelt sorrow at the most diffcult pain you have experienced with losing your beautiful son. Nothing anyone can say makes it feel better. In my opinion though, it’s time, and a lot of love that gets you through mountains, and valleys. Thank you for sharing your beautiful story, and congratulations on your achievement, inspired by your big, bright, shiny son.
Maria

Comments: I read today in the paper about your organisation and of parents who lost their beautiful baby girls born at 23 weeks five years agos Violet Perry & Polly Perry, the feeling of empty arms still felt very raw. It is a wonderful & thoughtful program that will mean so much to any grieving parents, and I just wanted to say that bears for hope is a lovely concept for anyone in such a horrific situation.

Comments: I read the story, Xavier Bear. it touched my heart, as I gave birth to my stillborn son, Matthew in 1968, I was 10 days over my due date there was no reason whey this happened, I never saw him, and that will haunt me forever, and there was no councling in those days , so I went home to an empty nursery. it was very hard, I have four beautiful daughters, and three beautiful grandchildren, and yes two are boys, thank you for letting me share my story with you, as there is always Hope.
