To the parents of precious little Oaklen I promise to take care and honour your legacy. When I’m feeling the pain of losing our bubs I give this bear a hug and know I’m not alone in this journey. Your thoughts and kindness means more than you can imagine. My heart breaks but this small gesture has helped to give me strength and to have hope.

Received a Bears of Hope bag from the Nepean Hospital after losing my son ♡
Comments

I suddenly lost my son at 18 weeks due to PPROM on the 14th Oct 2021.
I cried all day & night.
Upon receiving my discharge papers, I received a memory box and also a Bears of Hope bag from the nurses.
Inside there were a few things which brought me comfort and hope, such as a notebook with a beautiful quote on the front, which I now use as a journal writing memories of our precious son. There was also a bear and on the name tag it had the name Lara Joy Brooker.
I felt comforted knowing that I wasn’t alone in experiencing a pregnancy/infant loss and that my son has another angel friend up there.
Thank you Lara Joy for bringing us comfort during such a difficult time. May you rest in love with all the angels ♡

We want to thank Bears of hope and the family of Xavier for our beautiful Bear of hope that gave us comfort during the hardest time of our lives. We lost our baby girl Kelia Sabin earlier this year and through that experience we learnt of this beautiful organisation. We left the hospital empty but with comfort of the beautiful sentiment of a bear donated by Xavier’s family. Knowing that another family who also suffered such loss was there with me during that difficult time gave me strength for my journey to healing. It was only right that on Kelia’s original birthday last month we set up a fundraising page through bears of hope to hopefully touch many more lives just like the Telfer family have done for me. Thank you Telfer family for touching us with your donation and bears of hope for inspiring us with the beautiful work that you do.

Thankyou for the teddy you gifted to us, in memory of your Angelica. Our daughter Jemima was born asleep on 23 October 2021. She has left an imprint on my heart that is exquisitely beautiful and painful. I’m planning her funeral service at this moment, and that is what has prompted me open the Bears of Hope bag today. Finding this teddy has made me decide to do this for another family, in honour of Jemima. Thankyou. I hope your suffering has eased, but the love and any joy from Angelica, remain.
