McDonald's Helping Hand
We are so grateful to McDonald’s for their commitment and enthusiasm to help Bears Of Hope continue to reach families facing loss. With the support of both Head Office and local Restaurant owners, the McDonald’s Helping Hand fundraiser, held in March 2010, raised over $13,000 for our miscarriage support program.
Through their generosity we have been able to develop a beautiful bear ‘Hope’ for families facing loss. The funds raised mean that more than 3000 families will not have to face losing their baby alone and can find support and hope through our website and our other support avenues.
This partnership not only helped raise awareness of our program but has cemented some strong supporters through all levels of McDonald’s head office staff through to the management teams and crew.

"When McDonald's was approached by Bears of Hope in early 2010 in regards to a possible fundraising effort, we were taken aback by the sheer number of people affected by Infant and Pregnancy Loss. We felt that it was necessary to not only help Bears of Hope raise enough funds to create their Miscarriage Bear of Hope but also to do what we could to generate awareness of the worthy support Bears of Hope provides to everyday parents and families. Whilst the funds raised form a valuable component of what we aim to achieve through the Helping hands program, more so than not, it's the way our chosen charity makes us feel that contributes to the success of the program. Bears of Hope is a charity that almost everyone can relate to, either personally, or through family and friends. This ability to relate allowed McDonald's to raise $13368 for Bears of Hope. This has been a rewarding experience for McDonald's and we wish Bears of Hope and their new Miscarriage Bear of Hope continued success in healing and providing support to parents and families who experience a loss. We also feel that's it was only fitting that Bears of Hope call their new bear "Hope".
