Spontaneous Miscarriage

We are so deeply sorry for your loss.

A spontaneous miscarriage means that you are in the process of losing your baby and this cannot be prevented.

The symptoms you will be experiencing are bleeding along with lower abdomen and possibly back pain. Depending on how far along you are or the size of your baby, this can range from a normal period to quite severe pain similar to that of labour.

Please contact your doctor immediately if you haven't already.

Most spontaneous miscarriages (75 to 80%) occur in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Please read about having a natural miscarriage at home to guide you through your loss.

If you are experiencing a late miscarriage please read preparing for the birth of your baby.
